Usually these posts are filled with boring pages of "thank you" posts so why should he look through every single one of them..?

No, I didn't know you posted there I just read the replies and not who replied.
I agree a support ticket is easier for me but they usually like the question asked in the forum because if every one of the concerned members had the same question they'd get 200 support tickets whereas if one person asks in the forum, the answer is there for all to see
It doesn't matter either way because we can ask Dan to check in a few days when I buy my next share
