Everyone's happy now that they're back. But I'm amazed how they can get away with this without any reasonable explanation as to what actually happened.
They might have been hacked, credentials or any other user-related data might have been compromised, but what are they saying? "Uhm, we weren't able to access our servers the past couple days either".
That's shady practice to say the least.

So they finally sent out an e-mail in which they briefly address the recent downtime with the following:
Quote:
The issue was related to some payment issue with our hosting provider AWS which are now being resolved.

So in plain English, did they forget to pay their hosting bill? LOL. I know for certain any host sends out at least 3 e-mails which consists of: actual invoice with at least 7 days to pay, then another one 2-3 days before due date, and then one last one on the day it's due. Depending on host policies, they may keep your server running for a short while in case an invoice is overdue, before shutting it down for good.

So I find it hard to believe they missed out on 3 billing-related e-mails from their hosting provider.
In any case it's poor management to say the least.

I think it has to do with the corporate structure. Marc, who is the CEO is not the owner of the site so many payments have to do with ownership which has been difficult in the past. This may have been caused by that.

Well, if their motives were wrong they could always provide a geeky fictional explanation that would probably make no sense, but they probably didn't get into that.

As for the payment issue, it might have been caused by an automated service failing (etc. recurring payments approval), in a way that they thought they paid for the renewal, but actually failed to.. even with no notification, this could have happened on the provider's side as well.

The fact that they're back, is good nonetheless.. We don't know all the facts and they may have not disclosed details in order to prevent panic. A vague generic explanation usually works better when the audience is quite large and less technical.

I just realized I crossed the 30,000 referral mark at paidverts.  Smiley

Not many are active though which has always been an issue.

Next up: R4A and DLF. If I can get 30K in each of those that will be a much more significant achievement  Grin Money

A good improvement I've just noticed is that the Pure Ads package in PTCShare now grants us 3000 visits at the cost of $1 or 3000 BAPs. Combined with the first Bulk Ad pack we purchase on a month that grants us double (4800) BAPs, it's really beneficial, as we keep our BAP level up while getting ~3500 visits to our link all for just $1 (that we obviously get back if we advertise on DLF Wink ).

I'm not sure if its a permenent thing or temporary but it's a very good VFM purchase!  Smiley

Yes, for $20 you can get 90K hits instead of 60K hits. That is an incredible improvement. I have no reason to pull my money out now.

Here's a nice update, I've decided to make the hop to Group 7 in PV!

I believe it was a good timing with the current share price drop and while the BAP-share ratio stayed at 7.
My shares were ~20000 so I needed about 8000 more to have enough for 180k BAPs.
Also the current LTC price was helpful, as I could convert a few LTC "cents" lying around to $8 more that I needed to make the jump.

So, here's my whole journey:

Some LTC were converted to $8 dollars at the price of $188/LTC.
Those dollars were converted to shares in MTV at the price of $0.0008/share.
And those shares were converted to PV BAPs at the price of 6 BAPs/share

...and here I am at 361k BAPs.   Cool New

Congrats, man!

Yes, I saw your shares on the market so I checked out your share history in the shareholder panel. Good to see you get the bump. Here's to some more income for you  Money Smiley

I've recently been focusing on accumulating free shares myself. I'm using my earnings to buy shares and then converting about a third to half back into BAP. That way my BAP level stays the same and I get free shares on top. $3 worth of BAP for every dollar is a pretty good deal which is currently the market rate.

I'm even thinking of taking my money from PTCS to buy shares right now. It's tempting except for the lack of diversification.

So what to buy, PV shares or ETH with those earnings? Tough decision  Smiley

Is it just me or do you also have trouble logging in PV?  Huh

I can't login since yesterday, no matter which captcha I choose.

Same goes for MTV.. PTCShare works just fine for me.

Ok, managed to get in just now!

There is no better deal out there.

turning $1 into $3 - $4 in BAP at MTV has got to be the best deal on the 'net.

I'm also going to work to churn the BAP market in order to help the site (why is it whenever I say that, problems start  Smiley )

So taking a dollar, buying shares for .0008 and then selling them at 7 BAP. That's currently $4 for every one spent. I'll then take the same BAP and buy back shares for the same price.

You might think this doesn't make sense but it creates churn. It creates BAP fees for MTV which will help to eliminate BAP from the market. If I can do that with a few Quote:
corection
million hundred thousand BAP every week or so that is a lot of BAP that can be burned (50000 BAP burned for every 1 million). This should add up after a while.

So a 300% - 400% ROI is high enough that I'm willing to give 5% back in fees
