Title: WarOfClicks.. ?
Post by SolidSnake on 7th Nov, 2014 at 2:45pm
So, clicking in Paidverts I've noticed this :

http://www.warofclicks.com/

And.. they also have an actual sci-fi game intro...

I visited the site but all I can see is a typical PTC site only with weird names.. :)
It's cool to have a high quality and beautiful looking trailer plus an impressive story..
ok... but how exactly do these two things relate with the PTC site?

You didn't click "switch theme", did you?

It has a nice sci-fi theme going on, with lots of acheivements to aim for and a very game-esque approach. Referrals and called "mines", which we can explore for money, but then have colonization limits.

Yes, it's a PTC, but I do give it points for making it look fun.

I just checked it, and.. well... I'm still kinda not impressed.. :P
Why create all of this fuss about it and not push it a step further to make it an actual game?

Anyways, it looks kinda fun I admit.. :)
Are you a member there?

Nope, didn't know about it until you posted.
Still, they sure aren't small fry. I bet that whole site and movie are a whole lot of work (and money)

Yes, they have an interesting database..  124,761 members are a nice achievement these days and from what I can find in their forum they are not too old or something..
Their oldest forum post seems to be aged at the end of June 2014.. So achieving that database in just 4-5 months is not bad really.. :)

They don't have a Grid and their lowest interesting package in terms of price per click for me is the 72000 clicks @ $38.
So, I'll let that be for now.  :-/

Update..: I just checked their prices again and they are now quite interesting!

I see there's a pack of 24000 clicks @ only $9 now which make it rather interesting for me : $0,000375 per click

So, is anyone interested in joining or better has anyone joined yet?

If yes please PM me your ref link.

This really weird.. To my surprise this site delivered more than 20000 visitors to my link in less than 12 hours..
My tracking though says that they were not unique which is not ok...

It normally means that either it is allowing the same members click the same PTC ads many times per 24hours or that it is artificial traffic which is fishy either way..

It could also mean that they are directing the traffic through a proxy which makes no sense and is highly unlikely, so I will further investigate it and let you know what is going on..

So, to add some more data to the case.. from this campaign I ran on WarOfClicks I received :

31476 non-unique hits

from

1067 different IP addresses,

at

23379 different moments in time

(which means that they were not delivered all at the same time which would mean absolute bot activity but that's not the case)

So, somehow, the site made ~1000 members do an average of 31 page loads on my site..

Digging a bit more I see that there are 100 different IP addresses that delivered from 100 up to 450 hits each on the ads page.

Maybe I should ask the admin for some explanation.. as that makes no sense in a PTC..  :-/
