Title: odd little site - whatstuff.co.uk
Post by moneymarketing on 27th Jan, 2014 at 1:36am
I think I advertised on this a long time ago because I keep getting the occasional email from them. This is why it makes sense to not purge emails and members. After over a year from being away from this site, I'm thinking about advertising again after being nudged by another email from them. At least as a test. They are offering banners and PTP for 3.99 per month. I think that is worth the risk

They also have a PTP offer if anyone is interested but the payout is pretty low

Back on that superhero kick again huh?  ;D

Actually, they did just switch over to a new server or something like that. Maybe the new company couldn't handle the server load. That is a good sign from an advertising perspective at least. I'll keep an eye on it and let you all know if it comes back

Basically, the new company coudn't handle the PTCMan's glance... so they immediately got shutdown to avoid critical damage to their hard disks.. it's like exposure to nuclear radiation..  [smiley=lolx.gif]

(We'd better watch what we say here MM.. We wouldn't want to get on his wrong side..

Just like those tacky comic book plots, Rui has failed to kill the villain who has escaped and is back terrorizing the world  ;D

There somehow has to be a sequel, doesn't there..?

So, is this delivering banner impressions through PTP?
Can we simply earn money through displaying their banner, like in refban?

Both via their banner and their PTP page. The rate isn't very high though. It might be a good ad site if the hits are high enough. I have a tracker on my splash page now so we'll soon know

A unique visit is 30-day per IP? It doesn't suprise me that the PTP is low.
This gives me a new-found appreciation for those french PTP sites where it's one IP per 24 hours.

What? Did you see that in the terms somewhere? That is bad. Almost as bad as webbizinsider. I guess this will just stay an ad site(assuming they approve my ad)  :-/

OK, I'm counting this as a flop. I put in my ad on the 28th, got confirmation that it was going to start. Then got another confirmation after nothing. Still no hits to my ad page after that time. I just cancelled my subscription. I'll let the $3.99 be charity. He could have made so much more but it is such a tiny amount and clearly he needs it more than I do.

Recommendtation: AVOID!

PTCMan's x-scam vision did not let me down. I knew there was some reason for it to hide as soon as I arrived.  ::)

It is amazing how fast people respond to a paypal notice that a subscription is cancelled. So I get this email offering three months for what I paid for one:

At this point I have had it and I had to resort to 'screaming':

Quote:
I DID SEND YOU MY LINK!.....TWICE!!

HOW IS IT THAT YOU CAN BE SO UNPROFESSIONAL?

DON'T YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE A MILLION PEOPLE OUT THERE
COMPETING FOR THE SAME ADVERTISING DOLLAR THAT YOU ARE
COMPETING FOR?

I also think he put my email on a spam list because I am now getting spam to my account  >:(

edit: I guess on the positive side this is helping me to get some of my money's worth  ;D
