Title: Payza in serious trouble
Post by venkat on 1st Dec, 2013 at 7:13am
I got this mail from one of my programs.

Quote:
US Department of Homeland Security Seizes Payza Accounts held by UltraLight FS:
More bad news on Payza (and I suspect that this will affect other countries besides the USA very soon....remember Liberty Reserve?)
As per another program admin:
"Happy Thanksgiving!
I reported to you just 2 days ago that Payza is locking funds from people that live in the USA.  Payza claimed that their US Money Transmitter has locked all of the Payza funds and they are not releasing these funds.  Things now looking at lot worse…
Previously Payza reported that they will be taking legal action against Ultralight Financial Services.  Payza has now removed the statement that they will be pursing legal action against Ultralight Financial Services.  This is the updated statement from Payza:
We are unable to complete any requests to withdraw or transfer these funds at this time, as they are currently being withheld by Ultralight Financial Services, formerly known as Obopay Inc., a licensed U.S. money transmitter of which Payza was an agent.
Please contact Ultralight FS to request access your funds. Additionally, you may wish to contact your state regulator.
From this statement it looks like it is your responsibility (not Payza) to try to recover the Payza locked funds in your account.  To make things worse this message is posted on the Ultralight Financial Services website:
The US Department of Homeland Security has seized all MH Pillars dba Payza money on deposit with UltraLight FS.  Additional information will be published as we receive it.
It is unknown why Homeland Security has seized the Payza funds at UFS or why Payza sent them your money in the first place.  If this continues Homeland Security may continue to seize the Payza funds from every USA Payza account holder.  Your Payza funds may no longer be safe.
Since the locking of Payza funds many sites have reported that they will no longer be accepting Payza as a payment option.  Many of these sites are not run by US Admins.   This tells me that International Admins are very concerned about the future of Payza.   If this continues Payza may not be a preferred payment processor as far too many sites may not be accepting Payza."
If you are a USA resident with a Payza account - you should login to your Payza account and check your status!

You've gotta be kidding me. No more Liberty Reserve, and now possibly Payza?
What's left? Good ol' Paypal, that limits whatever he wants.... :dontknow

I wonder if that includes Egopay, the processor they set up because they feared an event like this.

This reminds me of the bumper sticker: Don't steal. The government hates the competition

One US member posted this update in EMS forum.

Quote:
Payza Announcement to Customers

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Payza’s account platform is no longer accessible to members in the United States. Therefore, you cannot add, send or receive funds to or from your account.

Unfortunately, the third party relationship that enabled U.S. members to access their stored value account services was terminated. It is with great regret that we have had to withdraw from the U.S. market.

All withdrawal requests will remain pending until further notice. We are working diligently on resolving this matter and will update you immediately with any developments.

So it is not actually Payza that is the problem, just their US distributor. That means that they could be back online again soon if they are able to work this out..

Is there any news on if this affects their egopay subsidiary?

They may take ages to answer some questions sometimes, but scamming means taking your money. And I don't think that's ever happened.
